Castrol Syntec is not a true synthetic oil and Lucas is not approved for VW / Audi vehicles. If you want to keep any German / European vehicle running for a long time, you should use a European Group 4 synthetic oil such as LubroMoly, Motul, Total or Fuchs. These European oils contain the proper additives that European motors require - they also carry the proper approvals (e.g. VW 502.00, 505.00, 505.01, 504.00, 507.00) for your European car. Also, for Mk4 Golfs and Boras - especially turbocharged motors - you want to stick with the 5W40 for 502/505 and 5W30 for 504/507 specs.
